Construction - Photo Log

April 2009

Work progresses on the northeastern trestle (Goldbug Island side). This temporary trestle is able to support the weight of a 150 ton crane and eventually the weight of the existing bridge when it is moved off of its foundation for demolition.
A steel template shows crews exactly where to place the pilings for the temporary trestle as It advances adjacent to the existing bridge.
The trestle on the eastern side of the existing bridge will ultimately support the existing bridge when it is moved from its foundation and the new replacement bridge is moved onto the existing bridge's reinforced concrete piers.
